Off The Beaten Tracks 1 May Mix

My latest mix starts off with a rousing cover of 'The World Turned Upside Down' by Billy Bragg which I thought was a suitable one to start off with on International Workers Day.

There was a mix-up about the release date of The Kennedy's album as their press release said May the 13th but it actually came out on April the 13th. They have a range of influences including the 60s pop of The Byrds and The Beatles as well as the likes of REM and early rock n' roll.

The Foghorn Stringband released their new album "Devil in the Seat" on April the 27th and it is essential listening if you're a fan of old-timey string band music and bluegrass. They are touring the UK and Ireland this month.

Out on the 11th of May is "Layer of Ages", the new album by Peter Kight's Gigspanner. It includes extended interpretations of 'Hard Times of Old England', 'Death and the Lady' and 'She Moved Through the Fair' the latter of which I've included in this playlist.
